October: Grief Workshop led by Michael Soentgerath - $25.00

A three-hour, in-person event in Calgary, AB

Michael Soentgerath was ordained a Deacon in 1983 in Edmonton. In 1984 he began his pastoral work in the RC Diocese of Calgary as Deacon for Holy Spirit Parish in Calgary. Since then he has worked in many Calgary parishes and for the Catholic School Board on a High School Chaplaincy team. For 21 years he worked at the Catholic Pastoral Centre heading the departments of Religious Education (until 2018) and the Health Care Apostolate for the diocese (until June 2019). Retired since July of 2019, he still continues to minister as a volunteer, in many facets of both pastoral care and catechetics. He is married to Chris Brochu, retired Principal of Father Lacombe High School and now sessional instructor at St. Mary’s University, Calgary. .

Advent Retreat  (Nancy Cowtun) - $25.00

A three-hour, in-person event in Airdrie, AB

- A time away from the hustle and bustle of shopping and preparing for Christmas
- an oasis from the bombardment of retailers competing for your money
- A time of drawing apart - to connect with God - to draw intentionally closer
- A time of listening... whispers of love, perhaps guidance, correction, direction

- an intimate time of preparing our hearts

Nancy Cowtun, CSCP is an ordained minister with the Congregational Christian Churches in Calgary, and received a Master of Divinity from Prairie Graduate School in Calgary. She was a Chaplain at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary for eight years and at Santuari Hospice for five years. Rev. Cowtun is currently the Chaplain at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, and a Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner through the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care. Nancy has practised the art of spiritual care with people who experience issues related to end of life, mental health, cancer diagnosis and treatment, infant loss, and various other forms of loss and grief. She is involved in the Stephen Ministry program in her home church as a Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader. Nancy is a board member and past president of the Christian Pastoral Caregivers Association, Calgary, and presents workshops entitled Developing Pastoral Listening Skills and Spiritual Practices in the Ministry of Pastoral Care.

February: Self-Care Workshop led by Keith Bird - $25.00

A three-hour, online Zoom event

- Spiritual Nourishment for Self-care: a time of listening, journaling and sharing.

Keith Bird is an ordained Deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada and serves the parish of St. Luke's in the Diocese of Calgary. His pastoral ministry includes care for the parish, visits to hospital and hospice, and co-leading grief recovery groups. Keith is a Chaplain in The International Order of St Luke the Physician (OSL), has led inner healing prayer teams, and organized several Agnes Sanford Schools of Pastoral Care. He is editor of The Canadian Healer newsletter, and hosts OSL Telephone Conference Calls throughout the year featuring guest speakers and prayers for healing. Keith leads workshops including Forgiveness, is a long-time board member of the Christian Pastoral Caregivers Association.
