CPCA AGM 2022

The Sabbath, The Jubilee Year, and the Rest of Life:
From Making a Living to Doing Some Living in the Jewish Tradition
Modern life tends to view the time we spend at work as essential, and all of our non-work time as secondary. From ancient times, however, Judaism has seen those “other” times as being just as important, if not more so, than the hours we spend earning our livings. This emphasis is of special concern to those who devote their lives to helping others, especially during these times of pandemic. Rabbi Glickman’s talk will explore Judaism’s view of rest and celebration, and some of the many ways this view can enrich our lives today.
