Compassion Fatigue – The High Cost of Caring

Caring too much can hurt.  When caregivers focus on others without practicing healthy care giving they are at risk for developing “Compassion Fatigue”.  Come and learn how it is possible to practice healthy self-care while continuing to care for others.  We will explore the following topics:

  • What is Compassion Fatigue?
  • What are the causes?
  • What is healthy care giving?
  • Breaking the Compassion Fatigue cycle
  • Developing authentic, sustainable self-care practices


Rev. Kerri Kroeker MDiv, BCC

Kerri is the Spiritual Health Practitioner at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary.  She began her career with her CPE training in Atlanta, GA 15 years ago.  Since then she worked as a Critical Care Chaplain in Ridgewood, NJ, a Palliative Care Chaplain in Lakeland, FL and for the last 8 years as a Spiritual Health Practitioner with Alberta Health Services working at Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Foothills Medical Centre, South Health Campus and most recently at Rockyview General Hospital.  She is a certified member of the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Price: $70 for non-members, $55 for members
